Lovely picturesque place
Great little place for a walk next to the river
This is my local nature reserve so I am biased. Visitors might like to know it is a very popular dog walking area, often has friendly "red" grazing cattle, and extremely close to the A1 road in places.
It's basically a field beside a river frequently used for grazing cattle, it is possible to get a fishing permit for the river, this is however normally choked with weed. Parking is only accessible from the north bound A1 & is popular with lorries taking legally required breaks if walking along the river bank from town you either have to jump a small stream or take a detour most of the way across a field to cross it doesn't take much to make this the only option and the field can become quite boggy and impassable
A nice enough place to pass through whether a trek, a short walk whilst passing through sandy village, for dog walking, photography snaps, a look at the local wild life, seat on a bench with a good book on a beautiful day..
